The Lottery homework questions

         I was very surprised at the end of the story. I didn't think that when you read a title and it says, "The Lottery" that its a lottery to throw stones at a bunch of people. I thought it was going to be a small town that has an annual lottery every year. In paragraphs 2 and 3 the boys started to gather rocks and stuff there pockets with stones. In the middle of the story I realized that people didn't want to get picked and thats when I realized that something bad was going to come out of it. That did not trigger me to think that they were going to throw stones at people.
